No.

Malls are a dying breed. It's not the 1980s anymore.

Nope. Way too busy and most folk get stressed out from it and that in turn stresses me out as stupid people tend to do that. Also screaming kids all over the place.

Only if I actually have a purpose for going, which is very rare. I don't buy shoes/clothing online, so that'd be the only reason.

Yes, very much!

I don't entirely get why malls are dying. Maybe growing up before online shopping was much of a thing, and kids just don't enjoy it like we used to, but it was nice walking to different stores, seeing what was there, and buying things. Heck, I still enjoy it!

Sure. It's not like I hate it. It's where the bulk of shops are. However, I pretty much "mission shop". I already know where I need to go and what I'm getting. Sometimes, I stop by a random store to look around.

I use to go there a lot with friends. We had lots of fun. And I even got free smoothies pretty often. But I haven't done it in years. One of the reasons I stopped going as much was because I had to move away. I still went to the mall with friends I had in the area, and had fun. But I stopped hanging out with as many people as much. Now, I usually only go if I need something. But I also don't have a lot of extra income, so I don't really want to spend to much time in stores. I know when I was a kid, I actually hated going. But that was normally with parents. Unless I got to get a game. But then, I would be dying to go home and play it(Or to go get it so I could go home and play it). So, I still hated being there.

Malls give me PTSD flashbacks from having to either sit or wander around aimlessly with no or minimal allowance money while my mom spent 6 hours trying on crap at nordstrom's.

Now going, traffic sucks to get there, parking sucks, all the fun stores are gone, and everything is too expensive. We have this one mall that's basically dead that sometimes we'll go to in the winter just to bs; get a pretzel, sniff some candles at yankee, etc

Mostly clothing stores, which is the exact reason why they are dying.

Only other thing it has are restaurants (including a high-end hibachi place) and a Best Buy (and a GameStop, but I exclusively go to the GameStop near me). Most of the niche stores went away. It's empty. Not like it used to be 15 years ago.

If I had a ton of money, I would make a mall that is actually worth GOING to. No women's clothing stores allowed.

It's an alright idea for something to do.
They're so slow these days, but you still see groups of teens in there on occasion.

I do enjoy the fact that it's an indoors, air-conditioned environment. When I was in China/southeast Asia and there was little to do in a big city, the malls were quite comfortable, often they had a theater (saw the Amazing Spider-Man in Changsha? lol)...and tons of bubble tea. In my home city, I pop in if I need to buy shoes once every year or whatever, or to check out video games/hit the food court (usually Pho, A&W, Greek, Orange Julius..mmmm). I don't really like large people environments, but the malls aren't too bad if it's not Xmas time.

Only reason to go now would be for a video game store or food. Malls usually have the best candy stores.

It's like an interactive museum. I'd highly recommend the kids these days check it out so they can see what their grandparents used to do in the early 2000s when they were teens.

Yes, actually. I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I've always loved malls.

I like being able to see the items I am going to purchase. I like being able to walk around and ask questions about items.

Going into a Dick's sporting goods, I can see and feel and test camping items before buying them. Or make sure they have the exact grain I'm looking for for bullets. When you buy stuff online...it might come in the mail all messed up, or the wrong model, or cheaper fabric than the photo suggested. You just wasted your money.

It's also nice to walk into Barnes and Noble (usually attached to the mall, or right across the street) and actually SEE, SMELL, and TOUCH the books and magazines you are interested in. Just seeing the selection and being immersed. Maybe even strike up a conversation with a stranger nearby looking at the same section as you.

Clothing stores are also essential to be visited in person. Back in the day (which was a Wednesday, btw) you could just note your pants size....and go to any store and just buy that size and KNOW with 100% certainty it would fit.

Nope. Not anymore.

If you wear 30" 32" pants.........you better make damn sure you try them on. Because Old Navy's 30" 32" are hella different than American Eagle's version of a 30" 32". Same with shoes. How the hell this became a thing is beyond me.

Malls are also excellent for people-watching. So many shaved monkeys wearing their scented fabrics, trying so hard to pretend they are more than monkeys. Walking their little spawns around in carts, displaying to the world that they did, in fact, have unprotected sex. Fascinating.

Malls just have a cool atmosphere. So many stores. Anything you could possibly want. And walking is better than sitting on your ass.

So yeah.

Not our local one. They need a mix of stores AND things to do. Ours focuses too heavily on the retail side. No arcade, no laser challenge, no escape rooms. It also has the smallest of the 3 GS's. The food court has only like 7 choices.

I fucking love malls and there's this huge economic push to keep them alive which is great. Arcades are opening up, better food options that aren't just fastfood chains, and more competitive pricing are at all the malls I go to. Beats the shit out of Amazon for a good experience. If I want a new game and that's it, yeah, I'll order it online (or just download it) but going to malls is fun for me.

I'm also social and talk with cashiers at the stores I go to, so that makes it enjoyable. And there's just so much good food at one of them near here that I had to mention it twice. I can get legit ramen, then grab falafel in the same trip.
