Nobody is entitled to a reward for a good deed, so I think this was generous enough. Ive found purses in store parking lots and brought them to customer service. The difference is that I didnt look through it first, so there could have been tons of money and I never got a news article or a reward.

If I ever found a wallet with that much, I'm not entirely sure I'd return it.
