How many Silases did you get in the process?

I didn't get a single Silas, but I did get broken by a Nephenee and a Azura (I think in this banner at least)

I got Ophelia from a 3% rate YOLO pull.

I love her and all and is one of the few good parts of Fates. But there's just no point in getting single 5*s in FEH, even with all the new modes. Pretty fucking dumb there's still no way to just be able to use your favorite characters in every mode without whaling thousands of bucks

I basically only use 4 star units for Arena and hope that the characters I like get demoted.

I've never gotten even close to 10 of a 5 star unit and I've dropped tons of money on this game.

Lately a shelled out an amount I'm ashamed to say, and I don't really have anything to show for it.
I whaled on the Brave Heroes 2 banner and I didn't even get the character I was sniping for (Celica)
I just got a bunch of shitty pity breaker units.

I almost quit the game because I spent so much money and got nothing. That's the theme of this game.

Real whales probably have to spend an upwards of 10k to get 10 versions of a 5 star character

i'm literally never spending money on this game again. I whaled two times.

Once for Kagero near launch, spent 100 dollars on orbs and didn't get a single 5 star. My pity rate got to a huge number then the banner expired.

Then I whaled again on the new Brave banner. More than 100 is all I'll say. All I got was a bunch of truly garbage characters. Dupes of dancers with no inheritable skills.

God this game can be a disease sometimes.

Not useless. There's just no reason to use them above like a +10 cheap unit with good inherited that isn't stat distribution screwed, just like based on pure numbers. Unless their exclusive weapon was like that good.

I use the new Celica +0 quite a bit actually, but in a perfect Arena run (Celica as bonus kills like 85-90% of units and nobody dies), I couldn't stay on Rank 20 lol

Arena is literally impossible above rank 19 because the new units +10 is always gonna give you more points than cheap units +10. And most of the other modes are doable with literally anything or impossible without incredibly specific teams... or new units +10s

well their solution to the problem is tonight's banner. The story units have skills that up your BST to 170 when calculating Arena score.

but I'm not going to whale for these units and I have no orbs so fuck that

Nice pull, TC. I'm lucky that my Fates waifu was in the game from the very beginning, and as a common unit too. I'm so close to having her as my first 40+10 in this game.

I agree, spending that much money on a mobile game like this is pointless. The only character I've ever "whaled" for in Heroes was when they added Myrrh, and luckily I got her after only $25 (the $20 orb pack plus the starter pack that came with a free Black Knight) spent. There's no other character that they could add that I would want so much that I would spend even $20 for them, much less triple digits like some whales spend.

I gave up on completing the most difficult things in the game a long time ago. I'm perfectly content with consistently staying in Rank 17-18 (occasionally I get to 19, but never made it to 20) and taking the L in seasons where I don't have any of the bonus units (I've been procrastinating on training the Askr trio) ready to go. I'm also fine with only clearing the grand hero battles on Lunatic difficulty but not Infernal. I barely use any of the GHB units (only Narcian, Zephiel and Arvis) anyways.

Being among the very top tier of players isn't worth the money when I'm fine with being a high tier player without spending much.

Anyway, I paid about $400 for my +10 Legendary Hector. Got a shitload of Myrrhs and Ikes and other good stuff as well. Never been so lucky before.

even though Im not technically F2P, I use F2P guides to clear things like Abysal maps otherwise I probably would never have a chance to beat these maps with the units I have.

Phoenix Master makes a guide to beat everything with just free units, the guides are pretty great

I absolutely hate how they did that. You can now use infantry and fliers in arena, but only if you cripple them... and even then, I believe armors still score better.

Um I don't think that's how it works.

First of all their skills can only be inherited by either a green infantry or a red flier depending on the skill.

Secondly, BST =/= rating

BST is all their base stats added up.

Only a handful of characters have a BST of 170 or more
Eliwood has 175, Hardin has 175 etc all the way to Valetine's day Hetcor who has 173, then it drops down to Arden who has 169. Everyone who is not an armor is below 170 and several armors are below 170 as well

Yeah but my main team has a +5 summoner supported Ninian whose combined stats are above 180, so is my like.. +4? Fell Robin F. Unless by base stats you mean before merges, bonuses from summoner support, stats from equipments etc

BST = Base Stat Total. Skills, Equipments, supports etc don't affect base stats.

I think the bonus stats from merges are technically apart of base stats, but I'm not sure how the game calculates that yet.

Ninian has a BST of 148-150 depending on her boon/bane, and if we assume merges count towards BST (which they probably do)

a +5 Ninian will have a BST of 158 -160

Oh wow. According to the wiki. Merges are counted separately from BST. So it basically gives non armors an armor BST

Oh sick, ok then yeah this skill rocks. There's something to look forward to. I use a Tactics team too, so her being a flier is actually a big boon for me
