Summoner class? I am talking like the good old days of a Diablo 2 summoner necromancer.
I remember I poured ALL my funding into it, I had over 70 summons if my memory serves me right. I tried going back to Diablo 2 but I just couldn't do it. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Tales of Maj'eyal. There's a summoner class, or the alchemist with a golem that you can really pimp out.

I am mostly looking for an army, not so much of a small number. Thats one reason I hate Diablo 3 compared to 2

Path of exile has a lot in common with diablo 2 and there are several strong ways to play a summoner.

dungeon crawl stone soup has a summoner class, and you can summon as many monsters as your mana pool allows.
Also, if you play as orc, you can worship a god where you're basically Jesus, and you can have a horde of followers that also get stronger with experience.
