Nvm, a quick Google search revealed that it is the same price as a standard Switch.

Most bundles are not the same price as the non-bundled system, so you literally are getting free stuff if you buy this

No they aren't.

For one, there's only been two bundles to date. Splatoon 2 (Walmart exclusive and limited time only) and Mario Odyssey (November 2017 limited run).

For two, the Mario AND Splatoon bundles both sold at a higher price. $500 CAD as opposed to the $400 CAD standard switch.

For three, future bundles ( Smash and Pokemon) are releasing at a higher price to accommodate including the game. Smash Bundle $449.99, Pokemon Bundle $509.99

Source: I work in a video game store. Have for 3 years. I've sold all manner of Switch systems and am looking at the prices this very moment.

meanwhile Sony and Microsoft usually do "free" game bundles(or they'll bundle something else like DLC, another controller, etc)

Xbox and PS4 had a 4 year lead on Switch. It's pretty standard to not discount your bundle during the first, sometimes even second fiscal year.
We'll be lucky to get any discounts for black friday/Christmas, and with the prices of the pokemon/smash bundles I doubt it.

What's surprising about this? I don't care about it, but Fortnite's one of the most popular, if not the most popular, games on the planet, so it shouldn't be surprising that they are catering to the popularity of the game by offering a bundle, and the thing can be played on just about anything, so it's not like it'll have any issues running it.

I get that a bundle with a valuable game would be more worthwhile, but this seems like obvious low-hanging fruit kind of thing.

Hey, if it sells it sells. This is definitely a bit out of place for Nintendo, who tend to stick to their own pre-established franchises when it comes to bundles and stuff, but if they can get the Switch to be known as "the Fortnite machine", then they could very well sell gangbusters.

There was a backlash against Fortnite for a good amount of time due to the fanbase, shallow content being made for it online and just generally for being a very kiddy, overexposed game, and it has really been ramping up lately all around the world. But it's pretty fun, and I would wager that it's still doing extremely well - if Nintendo is gonna try and get a cut of the action, then I honestly can't blame them.

It's kinda funny that Fortnite on Switch allows regular headset play, but Nintendo's games you still need the dumb phone chat app. Remember when people kept trying to defend it as being a system limitation lol

Sony was the best. Got that hype ass spiderman ps4pro with the game deluxe edition for the same cost of a pro
