I have come to realize that my supposed "dream" that I have has all been a lie since I realized that I have been lying to myself and that my heart just wasn't in it. So I've decided that after this semester I'm just gonna stop attending my community college and just focus on work for right and focus on trying to get a better job than my current one.

**real advice though: Find a way to make money doing things you want to do anyway. If you can use the internet to monetize your hobbies, do it. You'll probably still need a day job but you will be less miserable.

I'm 28. And I still been trying to figure it all out too... I probably must of mentioned this so many times but I only make 10.68 an hour. Working in a factory job doing some boring shit all day long. Yeah.. I wish I was making more. At least 15 an hour more then if be a little more happy. There wad a point to where I seriously considered becoming a fireman. But.. I don't know.. I mean it will only truly take about three months to get certified at the community college. I really probably should though! : /

Few find a job related to their degree so I never thought it was worth trying to decide ahead of time. Just make sure it's something you like because a smaller paycheck for an enjoyable job far outweighs a bigger check while dragging yourself through misery every day.

Sad truth is when I was young and the local arcade closed my biggest goal was to have a home arcade. I've gotten pretty close with consoles. Everything else was 'we'll see what happens'.

tbh, most people figure out what they want to do with their life multiple times. It's not like there's some one true thing that they discover and do forever. And many of the things you'll think you want to do will either turn out to be less fun than you thought or infeasible for whatever reason. (Or maybe you just won't have the follow-through.) That's why it's important to try lots of things.

31. I figured out I want to be general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins a few years ago. They seem to be doing alright without me so I'll be in this call center for the foreseeable future....

The reality is most people don't find dream jobs. They find things that they can do ok and then end up in routines until they retire and die.

Do you guys wanna actually know the best perk about my job is? Well, they say that even though if you truly hate your job, try to find at least one good thign about it. And well, thats mostly true for mine and its quite simple really.... I think my place that I work at must be the only factory that I know of that gives you 15 vacation days and 5 sick days when fully hired in. Hard to say no to that as well because, god damn... when I was working at another factory a while back? I had to fucking work at least one year before I could get at least 5 days...yeah... I know right? Fucking crazy... I guess thats why im still working here : /

Heck, I dont even have to do overtime if I don't want to and believe me, I dont. Fuck, I dont spend another minute in this lace past 3pm when the bell hits, im out of there and just wanna go home. Its easy though man. But still... I think maybe I could possibly be better at an office job someday to where ill at least be doing shit on a computer and not sweating my as off in a factory every summer.

At 10 or 11 I found out that it was possible to make video games for a living, and programming was a way to make video games. Eventually I ended up taking computer science/programming classes, and found out I was pretty decent at it. I went on to major in computer science and eventually realized that programming was interesting on its own, regardless of whether or not I used it to make games.

So now I'm a software engineer, working on things that aren't games, and I spend my days solving problems.

It's worked out pretty well.

I'm 23 years too old and 2 years behind on my plans, but nothing ever goes according to plan. My plans are absolutely mad. Normal human people plans are very boring and my plans are better. Other people's plans sound to me like they want to sprout leaves and photosynthesize.
