https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/california-professor-writer-of-confidential-brett-kavanaugh-letter- speaks-out-about-her-allegation-of-sexual-assault/2018/09/16/46982194-b846-11e8-94eb-3bd52dfe917b_story.html?utm_term=.19b0a5d41460

Earlier this summer, Christine Blasey Ford wrote a confidential letter to a senior Democratic lawmaker alleging that Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than three decades ago, when they were high school students in suburban Maryland. Since Wednesday, she has watched as that bare-bones version of her story became public without her name or her consent, drawing a blanket denial from Kavanaugh and roiling a nomination that just days ago seemed all but certain to succeed.

Now, Ford has decided that if her story is going to be told, she wants to be the one to tell it.

Speaking publicly for the first time, Ford said that one summer in the early 1980s, Kavanaugh and a friend both stumbling drunk, Ford alleges corralled her into a bedroom during a gathering of teenagers at a house in Montgomery County.

While his friend watched, she said, Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed on her back and groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it. When she tried to scream, she said, he put his hand over her mouth.

I thought he might inadvertently kill me, said Ford, now a 51-year-old research psychologist in northern California. He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing.

Ford said she was able to escape when Kavanaughs friend and classmate at Georgetown Preparatory School, Mark Judge, jumped on top of them, sending all three tumbling. She said she ran from the room, briefly locked herself in a bathroom and then fled the house.

Ford said she told no one of the incident in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband. The therapists notes, portions of which were provided by Ford and reviewed by The Washington Post, do not mention Kavanaughs name but say she reported that she was attacked by students from an elitist boys school who went on to become highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington. The notes say four boys were involved, a discrepancy Ford says was an error on the therapists part. Ford said there were four boys at the party but only two in the room.

Notes from an individual therapy session the following year, when she was being treated for what she says have been long-term effects of the incident, show Ford described a rape attempt in her late teens.

In an interview, her husband, Russell Ford, said that in the 2012 sessions, she recounted being trapped in a room with two drunken boys, one of whom pinned her to a bed, molested her and prevented her from screaming. He said he recalled that his wife used Kavanaughs last name and voiced concern that Kavanaugh then a federal judge might one day be nominated to the Supreme Court.

On Sunday, the White House sent The Post a statement Kavanaugh issued last week, when the outlines of Fords account first became public: I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time.

Through a White House spokesman, Kavanaugh declined to comment further on Fords allegation and did not respond to questions about whether he knew her during high school. The White House had no additional comment.

Reached by email Sunday, Judge declined to comment. In an interview Friday with The Weekly Standard, before Fords name was known, he denied that any such incident occurred. Its just absolutely nuts. I never saw Brett act that way, Judge said. He told the New York Times that Kavanaugh was a brilliant student who loved sports and was not into anything crazy or illegal.

Basically the gist of it is:

-There's evidence of the claims as far back as 2012
-She contacted the Washington Post in early July as well
-She didn't want it getting out but someone in the Government leaked it
-She passed a polygraph test
-GOP has known for awhile as well, hence how quickly they got that letter out

It reminds me of when someone said Mitt Romney beat them up in high school for being gay, and Romney was just like, "Well, I certainly don't remember doing that. Also, I'm in my fucking 60s."

A drunk teen in puberty who's in a room alone with a girl? I mean most people at that situation are animals. We're born so unknowing. You can only really judge a person after they've learned most of all there is to learn in their lives, as in after college and a few years of working and having experienced society, having read books, etc. Most people can stifle their nature given the right amount of knowledge. He didn't, and he was young. You can't really blame his current self for it.

Besides, like our body recycles itself every 7-8 years. And one might claim our mind stays the same, but does it really? What he did 30+ years ago in the past has no bearing on his current ability to do his job. It sounds to me like the husband is pissed that the rape attempt had a negative effect on his wife and publicized it out of revenge

Forget about mansplaining. Forget about the sexism of air conditioned. Forget about the sexist English language that has words like MANkind and SEMESter (omgeh it sounds like semen!). Forget about the fact that you think that skyscrapers are phallic and that its time for a female 007.

This kavanaugh guy will send you back to the 1700s. It will be like the handmaids tale, he will control what you get to do with your V, your uterus and your careers. This guy will side with sex offenders too. Time for you to step up.

But then the other argument is that your environment affects the way you grow and think. If you spent the last 8 years or so in prison, chances are you're probably unfit for society unless actively having proved otherwise. Also the other argument is that people often freeze their mental capabilities at a major event in their lives, aka at a time of murder or any such major crime, so regardless of their physical body recycling, the person remains the same. I've definitely known 2-3 people in my life where that logic applied word for word, but obviously it's not a huge sample.

But yeah that has no bearing on what I said. The guy was inebriated and young, and it wasn't a trauma for him, though it tragically was for the woman

Okay i guess i have to school your ass then since you just cant listen. This isnt even SA this would be lewdness

Engaging in sexual activity in a place where the public can see it (regardless of whether anyone does see it); orTouching someone in a sexual manner without his/her consent (a touching not involving penetration)

could be dismissed or plea bargained down to a lesser offense. Otherwise, a first offense is a gross misdemeanor (unless the defendant has prior sex offense convictions). The sentence includes:

up to 364 days in jail, and/orup to $2,000 in fines

Non-consensual sexual conduct that doesinvolve penetration is prosecuted as sexual assault (rape), not lewdness

If it was sexual assault. Look at CA
:example, in California a sexual assault conviction carries with it a possible sentence of 24, 36, or 48 months in prison, as well as a possible $10,000 fine"
