As a candidate, Donald Trump pledged to balance the federal budget and lower the national debt, promises that are proving difficult to keep.

Once he won, Trump considered an unusual approach that was quickly slapped down by his chief economic advisor, according to veteran journalist Bob Woodward's new book, "Fear: Trump in the White House," which went on sale Tuesday.

"Just run the presses print money," Trump said, according to Woodward, during a discussion on the national debt with Gary Cohn, former director of the White House National Economic Council.

"You don't get to do it that way," Cohn said, according to Woodward. "We have huge deficits and they matter. The government doesn't keep a balance sheet like that."

Cohn was "astounded at Trump's lack of basic understanding," Woodward writes.

You do know he inherited all his money, right? Not only that, but I remember something about analyst pointing out that he'd actually be worth more if he just put it in the bank instead of trying to make money on it and failing catastrophically.

Actually he doesn't even do that, he pays people to tell him he's doing the right thing and how smart he is rather than sound logical advice and even then Trump has made his career out of not paying people and going "Haha, you don't have the funds to fight me in court!" only a few times has he actually been dragged into a courtroom so now he instead just settles out of court with those that actually have solid cases but not the costs to afford a lengthy court battle.

So Trump loves wasting his own and other people's money, buying his way out of trouble, pretending to be a billionaire when he isn't, if that were as true as he make it sound he wouldn't have made comedy central demand the people at his roast not bring up his wealth in a negative way, hide his tax returns for several years,especially now and be so fucking ignorant of economics he doesn't understand the negatives of trade wars.

If you print more money, there is more supply. If there is more supply, the demand drops. Suddenly money is worth nothing and we are now paying 1,000,000 for a loaf of bread. There are literally countries out there right not that tried this, and now their citizens pay for their groceries with literal wheelbarrows of cash.

Why can't America just change its phone number when the debt collectors start to call?
