so they made this feature called warfronts, where one faction would control an area, and other faction would contribute resources to NPCs in the game to fill up a server-wide bar. everyone was expecting that when it gets to 100% they'll have enough resources to go launch an offensive on that area and take it over.

but instead they got this:


a fucking 7 day timer. meaning they have to wait 7 days before getting to do anything now.

you can get 340 epic weapons/azerite armor from WQs

you just have to actually play the game at 120 and increase your ilvl instead of just hitting the cap and quitting because you're in shitty gear and not OP anymore

you only need revered for story stuff and that's easy to get without even trying since you have to do the zone stories for the main quest anyway

the other 3 reps take longer but I only play a couple hours a day and I only need 3k more for two reps to finish pathfinder part 1

and I don't even use the contract things because I'm lazy and haven't gone to the AH since I found out about them

The bigger crime is rep gating allied races with old content. I feel bad for anyone who just resubscribed who wants to play a Void Elf and has to go to Argus to grind rep to exalted. Pretty ridiculous.

time gates in modern WoW are dumb but it's not like MMOs historically weren't time gated. You just gated different things(I.e. leveling took days/weeks instead of hours, gearing took months instead of weeks, etc) and didnt have a literal time gate on new content

Y'all remember how long Gates of Ahn'Qiraj war effort took? Weeks.. hell, some servers took months to open the gates. Modern WoW could never do that. Times have changed. I love classic WoW (Vanilla-WotLK) but Legion was a good step in the right direction. There were bumps in the road of course and I wish talents weren't so cookie cutter but it's not like the old WoW talents didn't have cookie cutter builds as well that everyone wanting their class to do a specific role would follow.

I hit 120, tried to finish off some of the zones I had left, and lost all motivation. The gearing in this expansion is terrible, leveling was not enjoyable at all, and the story is very weak in a lot of these areas.

I loved what Legion did for the game, but Battle for Azeroth took that and... did nothing new with it. Instead of charging up legendary weapons, we are charging up a legendary necklace. Instead of rep grinding world quests with goofy Kirin Tor objectives, we help turtles walk to the sea. Azerite Armor is not as engage as they hoped it would be; it's just more min-maxing to stuff your bags with.

I'll just hold off until Classic servers hit.

Im actually liking it more than Legion so far. Though it does have its faults. The scaling system for one. Also island expeditions are awful. But I hated having an artifact weapon. Made leveling alts painful. Im really enjoying the dungeons and raid so far. I never did a mythic dungeon at all in Legion.

yeah I don't like island expeditions at all. I just do my 4 per week and that's it

The necklace is worse. It not only has an AP requirement, you have to grind reputation with the Champions of Azeroth to increase its item level. There's only one you have to level up, of course, but it seems like the AP required to level it has been increased to compensate. And instead of getting generally important, class-flavored traits that change the way your class is play, most Azerite traits are passive and don't really make sense for most classes (one of the better mage traits does a throwing dagger). And to make matters worse, people are getting gear that's a 30 ilvl upgrade but a DPS loss just because of the idiotic way the Azerite traits works.

The common sentiment is that BFA is more like Legion 0.5 than a sequel to it. Pretty much every system in Legion is implemented in a worse way in BFA.

so the thing people are mad about is the Champions of Azeroth rep grind and how its connected to the Heart of Azeroth

to gain item levels on the heart of azeroth, you need to grind rep with the faction. each level gets you 15 or something levels on it. since this is the only way to get a better item in this slot, its really pissing people off.

and the rep doesn't carry over to other characters on your account. you gotta grind rep on ALL of your toons to level up that slot. its dumb.

also people are mad you need to get exalted with your faction's war campaign thing to get the new allied race, and you STILL need to grind out the rep to get high mountain tauren, void elves, lightforged dranei and nightborne. you need to grind LEGION rep.

and who knows what we're gonna need to grind out for zandalari and kultiran

Despite what Blizzard says, it is quite clear they have some form of an A and B team. The A team made Mists and Legion while the B team made Warlords and Battle. Funny how every other expansion for the past while has been great while the other has been riddled with problems.

There is a huge difference between a world boss where you MAY get a 370 drop, and the assault where the horde are GUARANTEED a 370.

Except you can't always get the first two traits immediately because higher item level gear demands higher AP levels to acquire them.

turned in the quest and got the same belt but 370 item level
