Rey and Kylo Ren joining sides. Or at the very least Kylo becoming the good guy and Rey becoming the Villian. If they had done either there would have been something to look forward to in new film. Now there isn't much/

It would have at least given the film some much-needed thematic coherence.

In the next sentence I mentioned a villain scenario if they didn't join sides. I mentioned they should join sides since the film built up there was a balance between good and evil. When good gets stronger so does the evil. So the way to stop the cycle would be two sides of the force joining sides.

I think there point with Kylo is that as much as everyone that loves him wants him to redeem himself he won't. Ultimately it's up to himself to make that choice.

Rey becoming a villain would be ... ugh. Just awful. Talk about derailing the story line.

The end scene with the kid looking into the starsshould have closed out the trilogy.
