it was incredibly easy to make levels, they gave you a ton of freedom, a ton of choices. Levels had an insane amount of variety.

And the game had a sense of progression despite being a level creator game.
The way they rewarded you with cool mario costumes when you beat the challenges was a great idea.

The only bad part is it was on a dead console.

imagine if the game was on switch >_>
it would have been a mega-hit.

Mario maker was a system seller for the Wii U

what about zelda maker, you get to make dungeons based on the 2D zelda games. set up your own puzzles, create your own challenges, etc

I tried the 3DS version and it sucked ass. Wasn't interested in making levels and all the online levels were either boring or throwing a ton of shit at you.

This one would be great.. Make different dungeons, and then an overworld, and connect them all together.

Yeah. I can't remember what is exactly in the 3ds game, but they removed a ton of features from the actual game. You couldn't upload levels, you could only play from a selection of levels that they picked, and all the challenge modes were gone I believe. It was basically a bad demo for the real game.

That kind of game could never be on the 3ds due to hardware limitations

Don't expect much if they make Maker 2.0. They want to keep it very simple for everyone. Slopes and stuff is too complex apparently.

Which is funny because the Super Mario Maker stage in Smash Bros. included slopes.

But yes I'd love a sequel. Your experience with the game helps if you look up lists of recommended stages (there's a ton of them, it's just front page on the game servers comes up with a lot of gunk) and go through them.
