Oh, the complaint is about a *specific* kind of plea deal and not all pleas in general. idk, to some extent testimony pleas can elicit false information since defendants frequently lie to save their own skin and there can be perceived ethical issues (both of terms of letting the guilty get off easier and the fact that the system is basically extortion), but the practice can sometimes also be useful for producing valid evidence.

If it wasn't for plea deals the entire justice system would collapse, 90-95% of all charges are pleaded out and never hit trial. We would need a fuck ton more lawyers, judges, and court houses if every case went to trial.

i remember at my last jury summon there were 47 cases. people were only called for two of them. thank kobe i wasn't called.
