This board generally doesn't care that much about competitive viability, and that's like the only thing Heatran has going for it (or did, I dunno if it's still as good or not).

As Heatran completely ruined the Gen 4 Metagame almost single handedly(With Scizor), I'm not even sure if his competitive viableness is something to be proud about or would help him in any way.

When you are at a complete disadvantage if you weren't running at least one of Scizor or Heatran, and probably a mild disadvantage if you didn't just run both. Yes that is even more oppressive than SR.

Scizor getting good in Gen 4 made me like it more because it was already a cool Pokemon that actually was seeing use now.

You could do fine without either of them. People are lazy and picked both because they lacked hang-ups and wanted to win. You're exaggerating to imbue your personal dislike of them with fake authority. This is where you go beyond "just your opinion", which apparently cannot be argued, into something far more sinister.

I played competitive OU Gen 4 like 8 hours a day. The fact that literally 99% of teams had Heatran and Scizor on them (I am not kidding on that percentage) was more oppressive than SR will ever be. I am not exaggerating. If you did not run at least ONE of these 2 on your team, when you ran into someone who did (which was everyone) you would be at a complete disadvantage and would have to make like, 5-6 correct predictions in a row to even stand a chance. While if you made one mistake you instantly lose. Heatran is the reason I stopped playing competitive OU, it made the metagame completely stale.

I remember this VERY clearly. Even if I would make several predictions correctly in a row, just missing one would instantly lose the match vs those teams.

I'm not going to say SR isn't and wasn't bad at all, because SR is horrible and cannot be defended. But it didn't completely ruin OU for me at least =/
