it's a classic and has yet to be topped imo in terms of perfection for it's time and is still a blast to play unless you've played it to death (and even then it's still great)

I like a few JRPGs more, but it's still a 10/10 & a solid contender for the most polished video game ever made - extremely tightly paced & the music + graphics are perfection.

It was probably their first "deep" game and so it colors their perspective of gaming accordingly. The closer it is to Chrono Trigger, the closer it is to perfection.

Having played both games, I believe Cross is better. I played Trigger 3 years ago and Cross roughly 3 months ago, so there's no first-game bias there.

By today standards its maybe 7/10 material.

Back in the day it was awesome though. Its shallow as hell difficulty and story just dont hold up.

I gave a 7 because it's an above average game, but tbqh I've always found it a bit underwhelming in comparison to Final Fantasy II and III, which I was much more into at the time. Chrono Trigger just feels like a tiny game to me. Even with time travel it feels like the whole game takes place within a city block

Its a really good game

I dont like when NG+ makes you OP because they dont scale up enemies with you though

Most of the endings, while it is nice to have the choice to go for them, arent worth getting either
