Nope. I tend to have nothing on my feet while in the house when it's warm/hot and in the cold weather I just have socks on.

It depends. I usually keep my shoes on until I finally have time to take them off. And sometimes, I put them on early before getting ready to leave. If I don't plan on staying somewhere long, I might keep them on. Unless they are a family that prefers no shoes in the house. Also, if it's not my house, I usually take my shoes off... Do slipper counts? I haven't worn them in a while. But I do like slippers sometimes...

Also this. This one acquaintance of mine thought this was odd because he has wooden flooring down. I simply said "it's polite to do so but if you don't care I'll keep them on". I don't think it's odd to do that.

No. Americans are the only ones who, in any sizable percentage of their population, wear shoes indoors.

Probably even then a regional thing.

It's more the fact you're bringing all the shit from outside, inside if you don't remove your shoes. Of course you could put clean shoes on and have them on in the house but that just seems pointless to me.

Paved roads and the like do not get your shoes that dirty. I will only take them of in case of rain and/or mud, but that is really the only situation you could actively drag in dirt, besides, wet shoes are not comfortable anyway.

Not exactly. Though I do have to pull the laces from inside the boot to the outside. And after untying them, I have to sometime unlace(or at least loosen the laces) to take my foot out. But I also usually let my dogs out first(and sometimes go out with them), and get them food and water, and kind of do a few things before immediately taking them off.

Whatever dirt I or others I was around have dragged in in the past, one of the house owners immediately made us clean it up. It is not that much work to keep a house clean, even when wearing shoes indoors.

Not really. That's assuming it's really that dirty. Lots of people have doormats that are for the sole purpose of getting most of the stuff off your shoes. And as Nichtcrawler_X said, you can clean up if anything gets on the floor. So, your house can be just as clean either way. Not to mention, it's really can be a waste of time depending on the situation. Like, if I forget something like my wallet, keys, and glasses inside my house on the way to work, I'm not going to run back and take off my boots(and put them back on). That waste a lot of time. I could do it with my shoes(it's quicker), but it's still a waste. I can see if you've been in the mud or they are really dirty. But for the most part, I think most shoes aren't too bad on a normal basic for most people. Also, if I'm over someone's house, but I'm just waiting in the front area of the house, no point in taking off my shoes, then.

Nobody is saying keeping your shoes on isn't quicker. Dragging all the shit from the outside inside is the issue. I'm not just talking about mud. You've got loads of particles flying about outside that you drag inside, insects could get on your shoes, gum could get on your shoes many things from outside can get on your shoes without you even knowing. It's disgusting to bring that shit inside. End of chat.

Same thing with pets, though. Pets could bring in the same thing. And stuff like insects and particles can get in just from opening the door. And you're assuming you're going to get your shoes dirty. Some people are actually really good about not getting anything on them. Just because you step outside for a second, and go back in to grab your keys off the table without taking off your shoes, and then leave again doesn't mean you're a disgusting human being.
