If you use the carhop thing or whatever, you also don't have to, but could depending. Like if you guys stay there and call them out multiple times for drinks, napkins, ketchup(or other sauces), and stuff like that, you probably should since they are like waiters at that point. If you are just getting your food and going, you don't have to. I usually just get my food and go. But I've built up some friendship with some of the waiters and have thought about tipping, even though I usually just get my food and leave, almost like a drive-thru. But I'm not sure if $3 is the right amount. It seems right, maybe... I've tipped before when my friends and I spent a while there once, but not since then.
