There is no 'argument' to refute. He said sports jackets look good on 99% of people. I said they didn't look good on me and I did not like the way they looked. He told me I was wrong. What the hell am I supposed to refute, here, exactly? Do I need to justify my tastes?

I'm sure one didn't look good on you the maybe couple times you've tried one on (if you ever even have) but there's no chance you've done what he said and actually got one fitted and suited to your body/style. You were clearly lying about putting extensive effort into getting sports jackets to look good on you. You can deny this all you want, say "oh go ahead and prove it! You have no evidence!"
