Just because there are $1M+ trap houses being sold along with having a high rate of homeless and drug problems while the city charges working citizens up the ass in taxes to fund lazy or mentailly ill people does not make it a shit hole.

If California is such a shit hole, why does 12% of the US population choose to live here? I'm not saying CA doesn't have problems, but one the biggest problems is that there's too much demand to live here. Like, even if we could build a trillion dollars worth of freeways to support more housing, there's not enough water. We've arguably got more people than the state can support, geographically speaking, and people are still paying the half-a-million+ entry fee to get in and plant their roots. The market has spoken, imo.

Because they're bitter insecure children who aren't capable of coming up with valid points to back up their arguments. Plus they're not funny or clever or entertaining in the least bit so it really irks them that California produces so much art even outside of Hollywood. It hurts their feelings that they're so clearly inferior in such a desirable trait.

If you can afford to live in California, you can afford to live almost anywhere in the US. I mean, it's not exactly trivial to move and find a job out of state, but if you have any kind of equity in a house in California, you can trade it for acres of land in another state.

The weather there is amazing, but the high cost of living, the fact non of my close family/relatives don't live there, and not much job opportunity in my field is what stopping me from living there.

yea california is the GOAT state, clear cut. SF is expensive and theres alot of homeless. Just like new york or any other major city. But most people that live in california dont go to san francisco regularly, only perhaps a weekend trip once in a blue moon where you have one of the most beautiful cities in the country, amazing views, amazing food, tons of things to do.

and yall keep going crazy that its liberal but really its just smart. we elect only the best, regardless of republican or democrat. throughout the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, we had republican governors. just briefly in between we had democrat gray davis who shit it up now jerry brown who is doing decent. geographically half the state is red. central valley is all red.

also, i know you neckbeards love to pick out random stuff but in reality everything is about money. theres a reason why houses and property is 10 times more expensive than your shitty ass states, because it is 10 times better. free market rules. git gud nubs.

I work retail in the Bay Area (Richmond) and have to deal with not just the ghetto trash with attitude, but also the crazy homeless trash wandering in.

Like 2 days ago there was a skinny pale guy with really dirty hair and a bright red nose. He asked for where the cream is to soothe new tattoos, then said never mind wheres the preparation h.

I lead him to the product and he says this is great, oh let me show you
(Oh oh)
He rolls up his sleeve and shows me his arm. Theres some small random bumps and one big red bump.

I asked him if he did that and he said yeah.
I put the stuff on, and it helps the bump go to my heart, you know what Im sayin
I put the stuff on, and it helps the bump go to my heart, you know what Im sayin
I put the stuff on, and it helps the bump go to my heart, you know what Im sayin

Hes repeating this and staring at me, his face was getting redder and eyes were tearing up. I said sorry but I forgot something, then just walked quickly away around the aisle and straight to the office hallway. I waited like 5 minutes and I assume he walked out with the product.

Also theres this guy who sits outside the store every day asking for change. Cops dont want us calling to deal with him because he just comes back an hour or so later, almost every time. We threaten to call when enough customers complain or he starts smoking weed. Well sometimes hear him laughing and loudly saying that he cries tears of joy, and something about hearing rainbows.

How so? Ill easily concede its the most gorgeous state. But the standard of living is ridiculously high and youre trapped there. My mom and dad went on vacation there and took a picture of a gallon of milk in the store because she couldnt believe it was $8. And it was on sale! Everything has to be shipped in.

It is a phenomenal place to go on vacation, but unless youre rich I certainly wouldnt call it a great place to live.

I'm here to join the California circlejerk.

OC is where it's at. Pretty populated, but not as bad as it gets in LA county. Got some great beaches. Has Disneyland. And if you do want to go to LA, it's not that far. Only a 40 or so minute drive. Weather does tend to be perfect year round. We've got seasons, it's just they tend to be light versions. Got so much in driving distance.

Yeah its expensive but you get what you pay for. I still had no trouble making a living as a bartender when I was in my mid 20s and got by just fine, and lived in absolute paradise.

As much as people bring up the cost of living in Hawaii, it doesn't stop people from living there, because its worth it. Well, that is unless you don't like things like being outside or the beach or hiking or an active lifestyle. Obviously it makes no sense if you're just gonna post on CE all day.

Well it got to the point that management became concerned for our safety and now we have armed security like the rest of the stores nearby.

So now we can ask them to kick out homeless people harassing customers or recurring shoplifters we happen to notice walk in, or people who are threatening us.

We dont have to call the cops as much now. But still some incident will happen every couple of days that serve as a reminder of the s*** place were located at and the s*** people we have to share the world with.

I want to tell more stories of what we have to deal with but Ill just frustrate myself and Im not even halfway through my shift today.
