Actually, I started on the orange one. They said to start on the hardest and dial it back as you need to. This is because the stint they used to seal it for the first 4 days was the same size as the orange, so it was already used to being that size. I had to go back to the green after a few days with some minor swelling going on. The instructions for lengths of dilation I just modified to have more intensity than they originally said since it never really hurt, and it worked out fine so I guess it was a good choice.

Wow, that's crazy. I've gotten so used to taking the blue in smoothly now. Worked up to green and now starting with green. Not even touching blue anymore. I go back to purple to maintain depth.

As time goes on you don't have to do it as often to keep it from closing up much. The entire system was actually designed for women with hysterectomies who had the same problem and it is functionally similar a year after surgery, namely that if you are sexually active at least once a week it isn't something you really need to worry about, but if you are not you should do it at least that often in lieu of it.

Actually, I technically wasn't put asleep. I was given a combination of spinal epidural and an injection to make me loopy. I don't remember it though, so I guess I dissociated it entirely. They actually had us up and walking around at least a little each day. Once the first day, and then three times on the second. Third day we got moved to a care facility, where I basically did a few laps a day up and down the stairs and stuff to get my legs back.

It's bothersome with how often you have to do it. The big one is a little troublesome because it feels like it goes in lopsided sometimes because it needs readjusting to get it in just right. I know this will stop when I get more used to it, but it's so far, so good.
