Last time it was some plot wank applied to Rory so they could have a Moffat Approved Sad And Suspenseful Moment To Be Overcome By The Doctor Winning The Most Since The Last Time He Won. Before that, it was the series revival. If series 10 - or even series 11 - doesn't have an Auton plot, I'm going to be disappointed. Stopped watching after series 5 when I was a teenager because I didn't like Matt Smith's Doctor, and now I wanna get back I to it in time for the new female Doctor. I'm currently on series 10. The revival series is counted as a separate series, with 2005 being "Series 1" of the revival series and the show going on from there. Before that, RTD and David Tennant had an off year where they just recorded 4 feature-length specials so that Tennant could attend to other commitments and so that Davies could help bring in the new production team and get them set up.
