1. How much milk would you have to consume to start feeling symptoms?

2. How quickly do you start feeling symptoms?

I know this varies from person to person, but I just want to start getting some ideas. I'm still trying to figure out wtf is wrong with my stomach. And yes, I've been seen a doctor already.

I don't wanna. Mostly cause I stopped drinking milk that upsets my stomach and I don't want to buy the stuff that upsets it just to have to throw it away.

It didn't take much. sometimes just enough cream for my coffee, and I liked it dark. Ice cream? a bite or two. Discomfort within 10 minutes

lactose intolerance and dairy allergies are very common. many people feel a lot better ditching dairy

Thanks.

I had a bowl of cereal earlier and my stomach got upset very quickly. Like, a couple of minutes after eating it. I'm not sure if it's the lactose or something else. I remember a few weeks ago I ate a large bowl of tortilla chips with 2 kinds of cheeses and sour cream and it didn't upset my stomach.

So I'm just super confused and all.

For me cultured dairy wasn't as bad (cheeses, yogurt) as something like straight up milk or cream. even small amounts of those did me in. i'm looking at you, ice cream.

I always feel the effects of milk within the hour, and the most I can have safely is about a tablespoon's worth.

Hmm. I read something about that.

I usually drink a lot of coffee throughout the day and I add about 1/4 cup of milk to it.

I'll ask my doctor if it's possible I have an allergic reaction to milk.

I don't really do the grocery shopping and don't have money at the moment. Ill probably switch to something that's' lactose free once I sell some video games I have.

I've been having stomach problems for about 2 years or so and still don't know what's wrong. I've tried a very strict diet. I even switched to lactose free milk for about a week or two last year but still felt the same symptoms iirc and that's why I switched back to cow milk.

I want to try switching to lactose free milk again for a week or two just to make sure it's not that or whatever.

I'm seeing my doctor soon and also waiting for a call to set up an appointment so they can put a camera in my stomach or whatever it is they do, just to see what's going on.

If your issue is dairy you need to get away from animal milk altogether, not just go lactose free

For me it's mostly just milk and ice cream. But there's some other things, like American cheese, but most other cheeses don't.

I'd hate life if I couldn't eat cheddar cheese....

I guess he's still trying to figure it out. Especially since the cheese and sour cream had no effect...

I would absolutely hate life with cheese... Like just all cheese for me. Haha.

Yeah, this.

But he was also correct. Lactose free milk is a no if I were to be allergic to animal milk.

One thing that's crazy to me is that some east asian countries have extremely documented high rates of lactose intolerance and they still drink a ton of milk without even treating it, they basically haven't heard of the condition.

They apparently just fucking tank it.

There are pills you can take that contain the necessary enzymes to digest lactose. Costco has them pretty cheap.
