It's a time old tactic that usually works. It may not be the best way to handle things or the most mature, but this is the only thing women have in their corner. Hopefully we develop those better problem resolution skills so this punishment can be retired and we can communicate much better instead.

Or, OR, I may not feel emotionally or physically comfortable having sex because of my hurt feelings. It's a punishment, sure, but it's not all about that. You think I didn't try to talk things out before it got out of hand? What, you think I sat there, got mad, threw a temper tantrum, and said "fuck you, you ain't gettin' this pussy" to him? He threw a bunch of insults, many I'd get modded for if I repeated them here, at a close friend of mine while I calmly told him it was upsetting me and that it was unfair, untrue, and way over the line. He swore, he called my friend a lying piece of shit, and he said he'd leave me if I ever tried to help my friend out of this problem he's having that would take a lot of explaining and isn't relevant for this explanation. Is it mature to call your partner's friends pieces of shit? Is it mature to threaten to abandon your partner over their relationship with a friend? No, it's not. I saw he wasn't going to let up so I took a deep breath and took a walk outside for an hour so I wouldn't say something to him I'd regret. After we cooled down, he said he didn't mean what he said and that he was just afraid I cared more about my friend than him and he's afraid I'll leave him for someone else. He apologised, but it wasn't enough for the awful, nasty things he said. I want to teach him that his actions have consequences and they scale based on the action. Forgetting to put the toilet seat down is not the same as acting like a jealous, thoughtless, idiot and warrants more than an "I'm sorry". I don't want to torture him by insulting him all week or breaking something of his or something else stupid like that, so being distant and not intimate will send the right message without hurting him. The bottom line is I don't feel comfortable with being intimate right now after what he said regardless if he cares or even notices. I don't want to, I don't have to. It's not a weapon, it's just a circumstance. Quit acting so high and mighty. I can accept constructive criticism, but you're just being condescending. No one wants to listen to advice from someone looking down on them.
