Them being the kids.

The debate is pointless as this society is not going to raise taxes to better foster care to take care of these kids. They might do it to build more prisons though.

This society is not going to be willing to adopt kids en masse that even their own mother didn't care for.

This is going to affect younger women who don't have control of their lives, and poor women. Middle class women in mid twenties are just going to travel to a different state and null and avoid any abortion ban. Those who do are just going to suffer, die trying to get an abortion and put a strain on society with their kids.

We will see increased crime to. Why do people want this?

It's just weird when MRAs start talking about how they support being pro-life. They think abortion is immoral while at the same time argue against the concept of child support. Literally impossible to realistically argue in favor of both positions, but I guess that's why they named their ideology after a reference from The Matrix.

1/2 of foster children never complete high school and 2/3 become homeless, prisoners, or die within a year of leaving foster care at 18. There's a term for this, the "foster care to prison pipeline."

Weird how the senators who oppose abortion, also supported making it harder to adopt children recently, not to mention the for-profit prison system....

The best way to reduce abortion is to increase access to contraception like IUDs. Those should be free IMO, especially for younger women because they disproportionately get abortions at higher rates (since they get knocked up at young ages).

My understanding of MRAs isnt that theyre frequently prolife.

But rather that they argue "since women can abort and I dont get a say in that, I should be able to not support the child without women having a say."

Basically trying to create the right to be a deadbeat.

Not really implying they oppose abortion.

Maybe. Main point is that, even if abortion is banned, we will suffer a net loss as a country.
There is no way around that, and I doubt people actually care enough about these kids to deal with these net losses.

That's a lot clearer - thank you.

And yes, that is known. A ban on abortion would have a net loss across the board for many reasons, even beyond just the infants born as a result. Women will still get abortions whether it is legal or not.

I don't think alot of advocates realize this. They're just doing surface level thinking.
But unfortunately, those who can listen already know, and those who don't listen need to know , just wanted to get it off my mind.
