FAL is the best scout killer in the game. I'm almost sure her bombs end up actually doing more damage than HK's as well because damage usually doesn't go to waste and she can hit more targets on average.

Though a lot of things seem to argue most teams should kill most enemies before they ever reach your team. I guess that's a bit hard to argue against

They're two of the best AR's in the game in terms of pure DPS, absolutely worth using if you have them.

I feel like this is aimed at me. What's the point in even playing if I'm not using who I like. I wouldn't be enjoying the game if I resort to meta teams to steamroll everything, only to go back to favorites later after all is said and done. I would get no enjoyment out of it playing like that. And if I'm not enjoying myself, why even play man? I wanna have fun and use my guys. I'll make it work. I always do.

I don't think anybody's specifically telling you not to do it. But also I don't think anybody here is like begrudgingly using a unit just because they're good. And you don't have to constantly remind us that you're using things you like either.

Yeah, this is why I don't want to squander cores to half-ass some stragglers (AR-15, G11, NTW20) when I could just gun it to Lv90 to power up some of the DPS types. All ARs sounds like a fun build, though -- would actually give M4A1 a chance to shine.

Yeah, this is why I don't want to squander cores to half-ass some stragglers (AR-15, G11, NTW20) when I could just gun it to Lv90 to power up some of the DPS types. All ARs sounds like a fun build, though -- would actually give M4A1 a chance to shine.

I think that build requires Ribrolleyes (sp?) and AUG to fully work, which neither of those are out quite yet. M4 is still one of the best ARs regardless of your team being full AR, since AR teams carry 3-4 ARs total anyways

4AR/1SMG is already extremely viable thanks to M4A1. I have a squad like that, with UMP45, M4A1, HK416, FAMAS (later to be replaced with G41 once I train her up) and OTs-12. A full 5AR squad isn't as viable because that means using M16A1 as your only tank and missing out on the tiles buffs that the SMG would give to increase the damage to the AR's behind her. 5AR will be a bit more viable once Ribeyrolles (the other AR that can buff other AR's) is added to the EN version, but even then, 4AR/1SMG is still better overall.

Guys, settle down. Both of you have valid points. Pop, I agree with you that wanting to mostly use your favorites is perfectly fine. But Cookie is right that there are some missions in the game that may not be winnable unless you simply get better units, especially if one of your main team members is statistically one of the worst units in the game. If you won't swap out AK-47, I would recommend at least building up another echelon to use for those situations where that team with AK-47 won't be able to get the job done.

And Cookie, I agree with you that there's a certain point where using your favorites turns into actively gimping your chances to win battles. But in the end, it's Pop's game to play. You can't keep ragging on him for wanting to stick by his favorites. If/when he hits that wall where the missions are too tough to beat with the team he has, it's up to him to decide what to do from there. Whether he accepts the challenge and changes his team to win that battle, or doesn't bother with that battle at all, it's his decision to make.

There's no need to be at each other's throats about this.

After a brief break I'm coming back, try to get Operation Cube done in 2 weeks with my underleveled ass. Only done like 3 night battles and beat the first stage. How should I set up night battles echelons? Gonna use 2, should they be balanced or one RF focus/one AR focus?

I've done okay in Cube with just one RF. They're great for long-term damage control, but she wasn't super teriffic (Springfield with x4 link) against the boss. If a Lv80 party keeps having trouble, I might switch up the composition. But anyway, against the annoying Cube 2-3 missions, I'd recommend having a rifle in there somewhere if you're not running full DPS (AR) stuff.

Speaking of Springfield, anyone get her special ammo from 1-4N? Curious how long it took ya. (Other than the lucky duck who got it on the first try.)

Putting in one RF on an all AR team is not bad though. It lets you survive armored mobs where most AR teams sorta just lie down and die.
