The Daily Mail once wrote an article about a race war brewing in my town because we have a high Muslim populace, and a bunch of old racist fuckers kept talking about how they "wouldn't assimilate" and were actively hostile to the community. Mind you, the article was written because a guy was working on some ISIS shit and got arrested. Dude was an outsider who moved from Sydney sometime in the early 2010's, whereas there are families who have been a part of the community for so long that I went to kindergarten with their kids. I kinda understand why there was a fervour going around, but the article itself painted my town as a melting pot that was about to boil over and erupt into violence, painting every Muslim in my town as a terrorist waiting to strike - when that wasn't at all the case. Using one fuckface's crimes to paint a whole community in a shitty light, because it gets clicks. The Daily Mail is a fucking rag, only useful to wipe up some spilt bodily fluids. --- I will walk down to the end with you, if you will walk all the way down with me.
