I get where he's coming from, he's just taking it two levels too far.Patriotism, begets nationalism, begets racist rhetoric, begets ethnic cleansing. MAGA is at worst at the nationalist>racist rhetoric area, and there's a pretty vast chasm between all the people that voted for Trump as you can see from the interviews with people, just because an amount of them were clearly racist scum, doesn't mean they all are.

You can't paint with such broad brush strokes when you're fighting for equality, you have to treat everyone as an individual, otherwise you're almost as the garbage as those you oppose... and the only reason you're better than them is because you don't have a history of said oppression and villainy (communism not withstanding).
