she doesn't know how to talk to people. I doubt most Dark Mages do

Correct. They can still marry an opposite gender Robin though (meaning technically they can be the parent of Robin's kid).

Incidentally, you now have all the gen 1 characters who can marry each other (Henry was the last bachelor and Cherche the last bachelorette). IIRC, everyone you get from here on that's not a kid can only marry Robin.

Normally I'm pretty quick to point out how creepy the relationships in video games can be, but in this case I actually don't think it's weird, Robin met her adult self a few times before she was even born, any desire to "hit that" would have started before he had any reason to think it was wrong

Chrom and Robin are the only ones that have two kids. The kids are generally tied to the mother, but Chrom and Robin have one as well, so pairing them up with a regular mother = two kids. Of course if Chrom married rando villager and Robin marries someone who doesn't have a kid or you're just female Robin marrying someone other than Chrom then it's just one for them.

The chapters for recruiting children get stronger and stronger enemies based on the order the parents are recruited in (so Morgan's chapter is easy since Robin joins right away, Lissa's kids chapter is almost as easy, while Olivia and Cherche's kids have chapters with very strong enemies), so grabbing certain kids early can be tough
