former day care provider convicted of hanging a toddler has been sentenced to probation.

Nataliia Karia received 10 years probation on Monday for hanging a toddler in her daycare and running over two men with her minivan, before attempting suicide. She had faced 13 years in prison. All of the victims of the November 2016 incident survived their injuries.

Through an interpreter, Karia asked for forgiveness.

"I apologize and I don't know if you will be able to forgive me. I have no excuse for what I did," she said.

Judge Jay Quam said this is one of the hardest cases he's ever had adding if this was a normal case, given everything that happened, he would give the most severe sentence that he could.

But he says this was not a normal case.

She got probation. Beyond that insanity means you don't know what you were doing was wrong. She fleed and hit others while doing so.

No, I worked in EMS for 6 more years. It's all about how you see the world.

If that's an evil, "bad" thing to you, then it gets to you. If that's just the way of the world, and not everyone makes it out alive, then you keep on moving, happy to be here and so grateful for every good day.

Denys said that his mother told him she had suicidal thoughts and a week before the incident told him she was worried she might hurt someone else, but her husband would not allow her to seek help.

at least everyone is still alive. gotta look at the positive though that lady deserves a huge scolding for the actions she took to cause so much suffering.

I'm going to guess the child is alive because someone else found him and helped....she shouldn't get credit for failing to kill the child.
