I remember discovering it a few months ago, through a Nintendo Direct, and thinking it looked pretty pointless. Dreadful graphics that try and be "old-skool", and I'm not the biggest fan of RPGs or JRPGs in the first place. Is it good, or not? Or is it just the demo that's out?

I got it. Just played the first hour or so of Olberic's story. It is pretty nice so far. The aesthetic is pretty good for the nostalgia. Looks a lot like the old Final Fantasy games from the SNES, but with some modern polish. The shadows and blurred corners are a bit offputting though.

Olberic is the standard "failed knight seeking to avenge his slain king" character.

I like him, but I've been considering starting over with Cyrus or Ophelia instead.

I really wouldn't bother unless you really, really don't like Olberic in your party (he *is* strong). You can recruit and do the story for every character in one playthrough. Just the character you start as is locked as your main person permanently and you can't switch them out.

I'll probably stick with him. I like the stoic knight trope character and I'm glad to have a protagonist in a jrpg that isn't a teenager.

I said one video game looked pointless, not all of them.

Game is good. The demo sold me on it.

I only put like 2 and a half hours in so far and I have two characters, but really digging the combat.

I don't know if it's just Olberic or if it's the game in general, but so far it seems pretty simple. Hit the enemy with weakness until they break. Boost to max and hit them with weakness while they're broken for maximum damage.
