Loving it so far. Great graphics, great story, great gameplay (except for that whole "starter weapon remains best weapon throughout entire game so don't bother wasting time learning the others" crap every modern game suffers from). Poor Aloy, first she's shunned then suddenly everyone expects her to help. Sadly, there's no "fuck off" option, so I guess I gotta.

Just finished the first cauldron, and I noticed the recommended level was 8. I barely got out of there at level 13. I've been crafting and upgrading, so maybe I just suck. (Playing on normal/default difficulty)

Gonna do every sidequest as I get them, cuz that's how I play these games. Best seven bucks I ever spent.

weapons get better by having more options to do with them, the bow you start with can only fire arrows but you can get one that shoots fire arrows or something

I should have said weapon type, my bad. The traps and slings seem pointless so far. Maybe they become a necessity in combat later. Idk, still early in the game. (I haven't even used a sling yet, no idea what it actually does.)

Oh hey I just started playing this for the first time a few days ago as well. Sounds like you're at roughly the same point in the game I am

Trip wire is really good for some of the challenges.

Also on some parts if you're stuck on areas with human enemies you can set them up where they spawn are going to.

I've been abusing the hell out of that path system. I kinda feel like we're given way too many tools to use right at the start. Silent Strike is OP.

Arrows are just all around good and you can get through the game very easily relying only on them. Status effects are more important in difficult fights so you'll do better with the help of the other weapons. Also flying enemies that you'll meet later are better taken down with a certain weapon.
