I basically boycotted this final. The pub I was in had to switch all the TVs from Wimbledon to the Cup which saddened me. But Djokovic won so that's good.

quality wasn't really there but who cares, that was the most entertaining world cup final in decades. anyone complaining is being ridiculous

croatia played great and were certainly more likeable team, so i'm sad for them, but happy for france after euro 2016 (and deschamps, he's taken a lot of crap but dude's record is now fairly undeniable) and they've almost certainly been the best team at the tournament overall

Nothing surprising about Modric getting the Golden Ball. Even less surprising that Mbappe is the best young player.

We knew Kane would get the Golden Boot, but he hasn't been all that great since the played against fodder. Both Lukaku and Mbappe scored a non PK goal more than him. That said, I do like Kane, so it's alright.

Why, are you going here?

Well, I think I personally find Copenhagen Citadel to be the most fascinating thing to see here. It's very close to statue of the little mermaid (as in I think you may be able to see it from there), which seems to be the thing we're proudest of. Imo it's not even a pretty statue and not exciting, but I might be in a minority and in any case the area in which it stands is quite pretty.

I'd recommend going to Nyhavn. It's a old and very pretty waterfront district. From there you can take an hour long cruise through Copenhagens channels where you get to see some of castles and I think actually also the little mermaid, though certainly not a detail.

Denmark also has pretty good beer. While we're at that, a tour in Carlsberg is probably pretty cool. Never been there myself actually, only outside.

I suppose we have some nice museems if you're into Nordic mythology and viking times.

I had to think about this for surprisingly, I don't really ever think about it, having lived in Copenhagen my whole life. It's probably not the most interesting place, but there are some nice things.

@Surskit anything that you found cool when you were here?

Edit: Oh, Christania is a very cool and unique place to go do. That should be a priority for anyone going here.

Definitely Christania is the best. But I'd rent a bike (if the weather allows it) and just check out as much as possible. The city is small but very pretty. I really enjoyed exploring the different parks. I also loved Frederiksborg Castle, which is maybe 30-45 minutes away from Copenhagen on the train but so very worth it. Hillerod in general is beautiful. I remember going to the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde which was very very awesome. Denmark is the best, a few days will not be enough.

I would have to dig deeper to remember some of of the specifics, it's been almost four years now haha. But you can't go wrong with Copenhagen in general!

Can I ask what was so special about 1970 FA Cup Final replay? It's number 5 on the list and I can't imagine why that much people watched it.

My mum talks about that final all the time. It was very hyped. Interesting dichotomy between "dirty" Leeds and the trendy Londoners that were Chelsea. She said she supported Chelsea specifically because her Dad supported Leeds. They were also among the best teams at the time.

It was also very early in football broadcasting, especially in colour.

So this guy's friend posted an "official FIFA team of the world cup". One twitter account posted it - one - but because it "looked official" a bunch of notable football websites and even a national newspaper picked it up. For a while it was accepted as fact that this was the FIFA team of the World Cup. Just based on one twitter account tweeting it once.

Easy to see why people believe fake news!
