Solid fucking movie. Was on par with the original.

There were just as many gratuitous butt shots of Elastigirl as i heard there were.

I mean the focus was on her...

But yeah solid flick, the villain could've been better (the first film did the movie villain way better) but otherwise it's a family movie first, than a super hero movie. It would've been very easy for them to go the MCU direction, but glad they went with the direction they did.

Yeah IMO just a half-step down from the original because the villain just wasn't doing it for me. Syndrome was full of personality and backstory, whereas (villain name) just got a brief glimpse and was generally very boring to watch.

Also disappointed that the entirety of Frozone's wife's dialogue was blown in the trailer. Was hoping for more when the scene arrived in the movie, but was disappointed when it cut right away after the line :(

I didn't have any aren't feelings one way or the other about the villain. I was just really glad the villain wasn't Bob Odenkirk's character cuz it seemed too obvious. Also cuz I like Bob Odenkirk and I can't imagine him playing a villain.

I guess it's an asian cultural thing, I remember my non-asian friends watching going "WTF" while my mom and my wife cried during the short. In western culture it's normal for people who are 18 to move out of the house, but for asian culture there is more of a push for them to stay at home until marriage so there is indeed a culture clash why some people thought the short was confusing or stupid. I personally liked it and it resonated with me and my relationship with my mom during teen and college years, but I can understand why most won't get it or how it would seem stupid to them.

I thought it was cute and figured the beginning was an allegory for parents missing their children who are no longer living with them. It still happens in the United States too.

Nah, where I live in the U.S. it's pretty common for people to keep living with their parents well into their 20s. It wasn't that hard to follow it or weird cultural rift.

I thought the story was great, I just hated the fucking character models lol. I found them really off putting because they were chibib proportioned, but with realistic human features.

Was there any significance behind Devtec or whatever giving her the black/grey suit at all? Or was it just an excuse to give her character a slight redesign for most of the movie.

Was it to help her look more like a villain?

Yeah, they did surprise me with that. I really thought he'd end up as the villain.

I took that as an attempt to make the new generation more accepting of her as a super hero with a "cooler" costume.

As for the movie, it shouldn't have been Incredibles 2 and should have been Incredibles: the Story of Elastigirl. I dug the movie and liked it, but after all this time I was expecting an Incredibles 2 and not a solo movie.
