I wish i would have kept at it. Took art in highschool and coukd draw fairly well. Drew a portrait of someone last summer, was rough at first but came back after awhile. Lol

As someone who's been drawing since I was four, I love it, and wouldn't trade it for the world. But if someone was considering getting into it at any point in their life, I'd tell them to just learn guitar instead.

I've been drawing since 5 and many things are still challenging. I would advise people to really master the fundamentals and not jump ahead. Really understanding perspective and light on form will save a lot of headaches later

There's famous artists who just draw portraits or nudes of people standing or sitting or laying, or flowers.

In case my point wasn't clear, I wasn't trying to say anything like 'you all suck, don't even try.' Far from it. Music has a much broader scope of being able to reach other people emotionally than drawing, and guitar's arguably the most versatile instrument there is. Guitar will encourage you to be more social, as well as giving you better short-term and long-term praise and feedback (applause >>> 'hey, that looks pretty cool,' and trust me, the latter doesn't happen with near the regularity of the former).

I'm not saying guitar is easier; I'm just saying that as a hobby it's got better odds of making you yourself happy.

i have been drawing every night recently, copying pictures from an anatomy tutorial book. Sight sizing, resisting conformation to geometry shapes (i.e. perfect circles), drafting proportions, and using references are what i have learned so far in order to draw decently. Compared to learning music, which i still practice, it's definitely more fun, rewarding, engaging, and significantly less repetitive

it's gonna be awhile before i become comfortable drawing muscles and faces without using a reference. Learning to color in photoshop is gonna interesting when the time comes

You'll love the results, trust me. Working in digital is infinitely more forgiving than working in physical. Personally I think the hardest learning curve was grasping the full potential of layers; once you get over that hill it's like one of those supernova mind explosion gifs.

I'm ok at it. I could probably get really good at it if I practiced consistently but I just don't find it that fun
