Seriously, can we make history by hitting as many different demographic boxes as possible? SW9 shouldn't even have a story or thematic elements or good graphics. Just make it a 90 minute lightsaber fight scene with as much diversity as possible.

To me having the original cast members along for the ride was cool, and a good way to tie new to the old, but the series has (rightly) never been about them, to me. I dunno, I just don't share your lack of enthusiasm on this particular issue. I get what you're saying, but it doesn't dampen things for me.

This'll be interesting. Is Star Wars "too SJW" for having another woman in the movie, even though we know nothing about the character.

Or is it not "progressive" enough because it's a white hetero cisgender woman.

So we can either focus on these two points.

Not give a **** and wait till the movie comes out and judge then. I'm honestly exhausted at this point. It's impossible to just cast an actor for a role without it somehow being a political move on either side.

Cast a black dude in a role that doesnt target his race then you're a libcuck OR too afraid to make a message and make being black matter.

Make them White then you're either championing some cause you're not or you're afraid to be diverse. Ridiculous.

Holdo was poorly written, but some of the vitriol that comes out of it is really awful.

There is a difference between the actors playing the role and the character themselves. Kelly Marie Tran doesn't deserve to basically be bullied and treated like shit because the role she played in a movie wasn't great.
