Not necessarily. As Australia's News.com points out, if a man is carrying out these actions because he believes a woman is fragile, and thus requires protection, then he's being sexist. But if he's doing it to be kind? That's just being polite. The conclusion isnt that chivalry is sexist but that thinking you have to be courteous because a woman is weak and needs this is sexist. I hold the door open for anyone, man or woman. If I ask to take someone out for a meal, I pay. Even in a group setting, there is often someone quick to grab the check to pay for everyone(not usually me, I dont have it that good yet). Its just being courteous. So the real problem that article points out is what you call it and why you do it.
