Damn, Ellsworth was unceremoniously assassinated. He was one of the only major characters to live in a tent, though, so I guess it was easy to assume he'd be first.

Welp, finished it. Enjoyed the ending, but it seemed a bit more bloodless than I'd have thought. Y'know, with each side bringing in hired guns, all the other murders being preludes to a large battle, etc. Maybe that was meant to happen in the fourth season or something. For a sec, I thought Tolliver was going to try sniping (lmao) Hearst from the balcony with his Derringer, making it a terrible situation for Bullock.

Anyway, onto Justified!

That was a quick watch through. I just started Justified and got to season 2 last night, but at the pace you are watching I might avoid the other thread so nothing gets spoiled. I'm more of a 2 to 3 episodes a day tops watcher.

I don't believe a fourth season would have led to a huge bloody gunfight. Deadwood was never about huge climaxes like that. Surrounded by hundreds of armed men, Bullock putting the fear of god into Hearst to stop his cowardly shit talking. That's enough closure for me. (There is still the movie though!)

And after it's all over, the only sign of trouble is one dead whore and Al mopping up her blood. Questioned about what to say to her relatives, "Tell 'em something pretty." I couldn't have asked for a more fitting note to end on.
