Newspapers used to have an entire section titled "Opinion", filled with editorials and such. Most news programs on the 24 hour cycle are padded out with the "Opinion" section, with headlines, the "News" section, is given 3-5 minutes at the top of every hour, or running on a ticker. --- Torn between two minds. It's pretty remarkable what their top news stories are vs. CNN/Fox/NYT. What you should look out for are news sources that are open about their respective biases and the slant that has on their reporting as a result. Despite having a clear liberal bias due to having so many connections with higher education, it makes a point of avoiding strong language and will ask fair questions to people on both sides. BBC is pretty decent as well. While the reporting on UK news can stumble into censorship due to the way it works there, it is very useful on World news because their bias is liberal in some ways and conservative in others, just because the UK works very differently from the USA. Between the three of them you're gonna be better off than any 24 hour news network.
