I am not so sure a scum jinjo wants to be the last one to claim. They could easily have claimed right in the middle to fit in. eaed claimwise fits the most for being the scum one.

In Banjo-Kazooie, there are five: Red, Blue, Green, Magenta/Pink, and Orange - you get a Jiggy for collecting all five in one level. In Tooie, they add White, Black, Purple, and Yellow. You get a Jiggy each time you complete a house (there's only one White Jinjo but nine Black Jinjo - the numbers vary from 1 to 9).

independent is independent. Its not independent if there are two of you or more.

If there's only one independent faction, then I don't see why there couldn't be multiple independents. Occulam's says otherwise, but it's a possibility worth keeping in mind.
