I'm more annoyed that with the technology we have now Pokemon games are still lacking in actual content gens 6 and 7 were an embarrassment neither Kalos nor Alola were as big as Sinnoh, Gen 5's Unova wasn't as big as that region either but it had alot of content, the second games even more and the fact that they're saying Kanto in the Let's go games will be completely the same to the point most of the dialogue from fodder trainers is the same is not something to be proud of, it's not the 90s anymore and how can that game pander to gen 1 players when it has no battles with wild pokemon, the trainers are so severely weak you can beat them all with just your Eevee or Pikachu and the game forgos holding your hand to flat out carrying you by the legs to what it wants you to do?

They seriously refuse to let you enter Brock's gym unless you have a water type or grass type, what kind of bullshit is that? to make it even easier Eevee and Pikachu learn Double Kick in that game, a move that'd easily destroys Geodude and Onyx

I kinda get that. On hand, it's fucking awesome that you get to go back to an old region in the future that's 90% intact.

But on the other hand, Johto by itself is probably one of the worst regions. There's almost nothing interesting going on with it and is pretty boring to explore. If they never put Kanto in, they could've just expanded Johto and made it way better >_>

It's pretty great. They even un-dummied the Celebi event in the US version of Crystal, so you can catch it legit now after beating the E4.

To be fair, the region of the prototype was all of Japan, not just the regions that inspired Kanto and Johto. So I guess with some imagination, that was supposed to represent all of Kanto, just like the other prototype towns were supposed to represent other regions (including early versions of Hoenn and Sinnoh).

I like that Kanto from Gen 1 was already quite sparse
and though its a little compressed and truncated, the region STILL looks PRETTY MUCH like the old games.

Kanto in the Johto games was still a shell of its former self and Johto was undercooked

they should've used the extra space to totally flesh out the original Japan game world or the Johto they switched to when they realized they had a cashcow

I just played through it, so my memory id still fresh and most of it is still there. The only things missing are:

-Pewter Museum
-Most of Mt. Moon (but fuck that place lol)
-Cerulean Cave
-Virdian Forest
-One of the underground paths
-Safari Zone
-Seafoam Islands mostly
-Cinnabar Island

Everything else is still there. It has more intact than I remember >_>

Yeah to be honest, I'm not that mad that Mt. Moon was gone. It's just way more floors and dead ends than it needed to be, and requiring Flash, a useless move in Gen 1, that early on in the game was lame as hell
