Sacrifice is natural, but there are multiple ways to survive it. However, it's pretty stupid that only 2 of them out of the hundreds with you will even think to try and save you during that.

But at the supply depot all the options are highlighted in bright yellow from the start and Woolie only even looked at 2 of them before running away, even as Pat was saying "OR!" Think about that for a second.

(It's pretty easy to fuck up keeping Simon alive, though. Keeping him uninjured requires mixing pacifist and violent choices so no one does that the first time. And it's not clear at all that Connor and Hank are only going to find one deviant or the other.)

It's a really good idea imo, in a different context.

Like let's say all the characters had the same arc as Connor. Obviously robots, slowly showing humanity, eventually they convince the player they are actually human. If this was how Kara developed, it would be an awesome way to sell the idea that androids are not very distinguishable from humans, since this character whose humanity you never questioned all along is actually an android.

But instead.... Kara is 100% human the instant she goes deviant like 30 minutes in the game. There is no question at all whether she is human and the player never has to question that fact. So to reveal Alice is an android is at best "duh" or "who cares".

Alice being an android isn't that stupid. There is a lot in the game that foreshadows it, often with the subtlety of a hammer to the head. Kara seeing the ad for the Alice-bots at the beginning of the game and the game keeping it blurry from the player is what's fucking stupid.

One good detail though is that she never actually eats and never actually complains about being hungry. Kara and later Rose just assume she must be hungry.

And yeah, after you find out there is one scene where you can make her feel warmer by turning off her temperature sensor. Ganon basically filled in the details correctly besides the hunger.

She's presumably not the only child model. You actually do see a boy android when you get to Jericho. Besides, after so many years of androids it's not too surprising the average citizen overlooks anyone without an LED.

And they don't care she has Alice, just that she assaulted (or murdered) Todd. Remember, they pointed out how they don't even talk about Alice in the news report. And Todd presumably keeps it quiet himself because he illegally removed her tracker.

Also this is kinda interesting, not sure if it will play out properly (I know it won't): Alice being an android makes Kara actually seem LESS human. Like they are 2 parts of a set just programmed to interact with each other. That's definitely a Nier-esque idea.

Before deviancy, no androids would be doing that on their own. Sure, after deviancy becomes public knowledge that'd be a different story, but most humans see Alice before that.

Of course the other answer is that child androids are rare/new enough that most people aren't aware of them at all. I'm definitely putting more thought into this than David did at this point, though.

So am I the only one that found it incredibly stupid that Connor didn't shoot the Chloe but then in the next scene he tortured like 4 other androids in the evidence locker including ripping off a Traci's head?

Connor's story is better but it is far from immune to Cage's garbage

Given what he said it seems Pat is going to not choose deviancy since he wants to take down North unless if he still thinks Hank is still on the table for this playthrough

I still don't like it. The IDEA of it, you know yea maybe that could have worked and been neat. The way it's done in this game? Nah. Like you said kev, you probably put more thought into it than David Cage.

I will say the ONE thing that I'm actually kind of disappointed in is that it seems like they really screwed up the Hank bit of the story to the point that I'm not expecting him to make another appearance. Which will be pretty lame if that police station scene with him before Connor got the evidence was the final time we see him.

Especially because they were STARTING to get close at the end but it seems like JUST missed out to continue that story. So something started to build up and now ended prematurely, and was definitely the best part of the game.

like it's not hard to get good or decent endings, I don't know how they are all consistently heading for bad ends except maybe Matt who might end up OK, but Woolie kind of screwed him out of the best ending

Also, just to be clear, I'm mostly just defending the Alice twist purely logistically. It would have been much better to have her be human but Cage can't resist having big huge twists. It's still nowhere near as bad as Shelby.

There is one poignant scene you can get out of this, but Kara is already off that path.

Well whatever Matt decided with being captured is because they heard that they'll get extra stuff with her for doing that so I kinda blame fans more on that one than them, if it was fans that kept telling them to do that for an extra scene.

Pat I think has held it together all things considered with a rough start. He's just had to react more to Woolie's turn of events more recently.

Woolie.....it was an unfortunate mistake, and they even tease him on it on the last video and he knows it. It is what it is. I'm still not terribly upset with the story arc of Markus being a super pacifist and sacrificing himself for the cause.

Oh actually honest question

How was Hank expecting Connor to know his son's name if they never had a conversation about it? Was he hoping Connor would automatically see whatever was in his house to know? I could understand if they had a conversation earlier and the player just forgot, sure, but they never got conversation yet the game is banking on the player seeing it in the house. Granted I'm sure it's easy to get in the house but in cases like this.....it ends up just being a guessing game for your life.

I dunno, in a pivotal situation like that that can alter the ending of the game I would think the game might fine tune it a bit more and take into account ok MAYBE the player didn't see that thing in Hank's house. Like give Connor the option to say "Hank I honestly don't know we never had that conversation" in some capacity.

Also, why wouldn't both Connors just know the kid's name anyway? He's a detective robot who should have all the information of his partner anyway. It would have made more sense for Hank to ask him questions about conversations they absolutely did have in the game after Connor last died.

To be fair if he knew everything about Hank from the start it wouldn't give the player much to do, and Hank would be thoroughly CREEPED OUT considering how hesitant he was on androids at the start of the game

But yes it would make sense for an android to have info on his incoming partner
