Over time the admins running the show have really cracked down. Everything has to be PG now and politically correct. For example, a few events ago a runner got banned for wearing a MAGA hat. When people hate on GDQ that's what they mean.

The runners, the couches, and especially the donors and crowds are almost always a blast. They don't care about professionalism, they're just there to do what they love and enjoy it as a group.

From my understanding this was a legitimate reason for banning that person (who is a known shitstirrer and had been on very thin ice anyways) since the organization risks losing its tax exempt status if it appears that they are endorsing political figures

Remember when bonesaw during the jak and daxter run some GDQ's ago, arguably the most entertaining and hilarious run in that whole event got banned because of a joke he made, that the GDQ staff overreacted to the point of tweeting apologies to american airlines about what he said, and they had no fucking clue what they were talking about?

Yeah they have a strict no politics policy as well as the fact that he made a mass shooting joke and he was reportedly being an asshole the entire time he was there.
