I don't think I could use it on my TV for PC gaming that much, but can I use it to watch movies or browse the web or play emulators on my TV?

And by watch movies, I mean play files on my personal folder, not movies I have to buy on Steam. Same with emulators >_>

It's terrible. I got one, returned it the next day. Doesn't do what you think it's supposed to do.

Really? Can you elaborate what you were expecting and what the reality is?

I think it only works with Steam, so you wouldn't be able to use it for other shit

I mean what did you expect? It's clearly a device meant for streaming games from PC to TV over your in-home network.

Not sure what you think it's supposed to do, but it does it's actual function of streaming PC stuff to the TV just fine.

Well it's supposed to be able to stream your games to other remote TV locations. I tried it from my bedroom to my living room and the picture was laughable.

Is the Steam Link just a wireless HDMI cable?

But for that price you could give it a shot. I've heard it working for some people, but, pffft, that would surprise me to know that's true.

I think so, I love mine. The picture is smooth wherever I set up at, wireless or wired.

I think mileage varies depending on connection, and you need something real good to make it work well. I think it would be much easier to just directly connect a PC to your TV.

For media streaming, I don't know. The Steam Link is kind of like a mirror for whatever is running on your desktop. You could probably alt tab out and run programs like Kodi to play media.
