it's stuff we could just make at home instead? Like hamburgers. Is there really that much difference between a hamburger you got at mcdonalds and a hamburger you made at home? I know fast food has a lot of preservatives, but most the food you buy at the supermarket does too.

so why??? why have we made fast food such a shameful thing?

I take it TC has never made home-made burgers before. I'm talking ground beef mixed with seasonings, spices, eggs, binders, all that good stuff and then shaped into patties.

I have a full time job and don't have time to dirty a half dozen dishes just to make a hamburger.

I'm starting to see a trend in this gimmick account that is TC.

Feigned ignorance is so tired.

>.> it really isn't that elaborate. I just got a burger at mcdonalds and thought, "wow, this is so good" but then I felt ashamed about it. And that got me thinking, why should I be ashamed? What is so bad about that burger that I should be ashamed to eat it?

I refuse to be shamed anymore.

No, this isn't an elaborate gimmick, I agree. It's tired.

At that point, it's essentially a meat loaf sandwich now.

Well since nobody here knows, I guess I might as well take a stab at it.

Maybe it's because of low quality cuts of meat or something.

yea, everyone is quick to try and call me out, but no one has tried to answer my question until you. :v I really doubt Walmart meat is that much higher quality than Mcdonald's tbh.

There is no difference, TC. They are all equally as healthy (or unhealthy). There is nothing unhealthy about the occasional hamburger imo. It's nutritious. Just don't overdo it I guess.

The people here claiming there's a massive difference are ignorant. Fast food uses the same shit you buy at a supermarket for ground beef.

Fast food (and restaurant food in general) is stuffed with shitty filler. Also, the bread should be whole wheat, but it's almost always white. Plus the condiments have tons of sugar and fat.

A WHOPPER sandwich has 11 grams of sugar and half of it comes from the bun. The white bun.

Why are they hell are they even adding sugar to regular ol' hamburger buns? I always do wheat when given the option.

So basically it's the same as what most people eat at home.

Except you have a choice of better food at the grocery store, whereas you cannot ask for whole wheat buns from mcdonalds. Also, not all food items are created equally. There are multiple whole wheat breads, some healthier than others.

I still can't figure out why bread needs salt.
Fucktons of sugar, however, does serve a useful purpose in bread.

Imagine eating hamburgers with whole wheat buns lmao. You might eat a turkey hamburger instead. Even healthier! Jfc.

Exactly what purpose would that be? It's like milk. There's approx. 12 grams of sugar in a single serving, yet, you can't even taste it.

Gorge the piss out of the yeast (literally, actually), so they'll fluff up the bread more.

You'd be surprised how much even a little bit of sugar changes the taste. I tried some all-natural peanut butter that had like, 2 grams of sugar. "Ok, i can dig this" i say.

Later I find some hardcore variety with 0 sugar. Tasted like straight peanuts out of a can.

Anyways on topic there probably isnt a big difference health wise between mcds and most homemade burgers. But mcdonalds also gives you fries and a sugary drink which inflate lunch calories up to 1000 if youre not careful.

I'm no expert on baking but I do know that salt in baking is for counter-intuitive baking reasons. I don't remember what exactly but it's like texture or holding together or something like that.
