Any national parks that are a decent drive away? The Grand canyon or Joshua tree seem really cool. Things like that are pretty empty on those holidays

The Grand Canyon is only 3 or so hours away I think. I could try to find a place up there but I think I'd be by myself. I'd love to camp but idk if I'd feel safe alone.

Round trip tickets look to be about $160 for the whole thanksgiving week. Direct flight to alaska and back $500. $300 for aspen, co. Hit the slopes then get some munchies. Start selling plasma now and you could have over $1000 by thanksgiving to use on your trip.

i'd love to go to these places but i don't like skiing so i'm not sure what else i would do. and i could save up money to fly but i'm not sure if i want to spend that kind of money just to not be here on thanksgiving lol

Depending on how much you wanna ball out, travel abroad. You can get a roundtrip flight to Europe for under $500.

I don't know your living situation, but you could always just go stay at a hotel for a night and tell your family you've got some business to take care of that day.

Nature retreat in the redwood forests could be cool, I don't know how far that is from you though. I think you could hit that and San Francisco too.

i live in my own place but the expectation is for the women to cook all the food and bring it to my brother's house or my parents' house for us all to eat. and i just really don't want to do it this year. there's too many people that go and i really am not in the mood to be around my family that much.
