Better than a pug. But mostly because existence living as a pit bull is not suffering borne of twisted breeding practices like pugs and bulldogs.

Theyre normally pretty cute dogs

I would never own one though due to their controversy

it's the owners who don't do their job.

as a kid, our next door neighboor had a pitbull. the only way he hurt you was by wagging his tail...

about a year ago some dumb bitch stood there while her pitbull attacked me. eventually she walked over to get it. thankfully i reacted before it lunged, so it barely did anything to my arm. then i slowly backed away diagonally, shoving my foot in it's face every time it tried biting my leg.

Everyone says that, but Im not sure that is the entire story

Certain dogs have been specifically bred for aggression

which just makes it harder for the owner, not impossible

So maybe it should be a less popular breed

Given their aggressive tendencies and ugly look IMO, I have to rate them low.

8/10

They get a bad reputation, but it's mostly their owners who are to blame.

That's because of the trainer. People also use them specifically to cause fear because they have a bad rep, which is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Remember the time that cat attacked the baby and the couple had to call 911 on it because they couldn't leave the roo ? That shit was crazy and people still like cats after that.

And bulldogs were bred to fight bulls but nowadays all they do is lay around, fart, drool, and suffocate. Sometimes they ride skateboards though.
You know what else was originally bred for aggression and to fight? Boston terriers.
That's right, this doofus: https://d2kwjcq8j5htsz.cloudfront.net/2015/07/guiltyboston.jpg

4/10. Kinda dangerous breed plus not even that visually appealing (except for the roided out ones which look kinda badass.)

I have an American Pit Bull Terrier and shes one of the nicest dogs I've ever had, although she is a little rough when playing with other dogs she wouldn't hurt a fly if you tried to tell her to. Just like with any dog behavior depends on the owner, most of the time anyway.
