That's why the games I listed are what get played the most. It's hard to get my girlfriend to play anything harder than what I listed.

I could never get into Catan...I mean I it like but yeah...of course I've only played it on the xbox...maybe that's the problem.

I dislike Catan. There's just so many better games (Scythe) but it's popular enough that "non nerds" play it and since there's really not a lot of skill involved, compared to other games, anyone can win so it's very welcoming to new/shitty players.

How hard is Scythe? I almost picked it up when I was at the local board game store the other day. I don't want to get it if it's too hard because the girlfriend won't ever play it. Also how's the solo player game?

Some of those are also the ones that get played most in my house. My kids also like Forbidden island/desert, Saboteur. They really like the Munchkin games but my wife is not that into those games.

I played Ghost Stories and Betrayal at House on the Hill with a friend a few times. And my brother has Forbidden Island, but I only played that like twice.

I am a big fan of Ascension, though. I know deckbuilders aren't the same as board games, but I think they're in a similar enough genre to mention.

Check out a game called Clank. It's a deck builder that's also a board game. It's a on of fun. Multiple ways to build a deck and tons of room for experimentation.

Give yourself a few hours to learn it, maybe even a practice game or two but it's a ton of fun. I haven't played single player. I played it at a friend's house (she already knew how to play and was teaching the rest of us).

I do indeed :D I go out with my nephew to our local comic book store for board game meet up :)

I have quite a few games, but they haven't really seen much play, so I have to get back on track with looking into how to go about selling them

Try to, but company is rare. We prefer shorter games over ones that take hours. (Stuff like that looks to complex anyway.) Fluxx, Boss Monster, and Munchkin are good. Have some dice games including Dotzee and Farkle.

I haven't really been into board games as an adult, possibly because I played CCGs for a long while instead (and, of course, I wanted to get into tabletop gaming at one point). That said, I do enjoy Reversi but I don't play it very often any more and, when I do, it's usually not the physical board game.

Anyone know of any good 2 player horror themed board games? Everything I run across is for 3 or more players.

Seems kinda typical for board games? idk, you always have Horrorclix but that's a collectible tabletop game.

My game group likes Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Quarriors, Castles of the Mad King Ludwig, Liars' Dice and Resistance (among others). Last time we played Betrayal, I was finally the bad guy for the first time ever, but I got curb stomped because we had a huge amount of the house explored before the haunt happened.

Resistance is my personal favorite because of the lack of complexity and the fun of deceiving other people, but you need at least five players.
