Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!

Like.... what? Is he for real? Did they give him some kind of irrefutable evidence that the rest of us don't have or something?

Kim has committed to denuclearize.
Deal with it.

This is great news for everyone.

But but how can we trust him!?

This is the start. This is the beginning of a possible end to the Korean War. Mark my words.

You would think a pathological liar like Trump would be more skeptical of a promise made by North Korea who hasn't had good track record for keeping promises.

The media was too busy sniffing Obamas ass when he went to Cuba for that historic event.

Why didnt Jim Acosta start yelling things out to Castro like he did with Kim Jong Un!?

Which btw, if youre all wondering why CNN should have their credentials pulled - yesterday was a prime example. Nearly cost us peace with Korea for ratings .

But does Trump know what poutine is? It sounds vaguely similar to Putin, so he'd probably think it was a good thing.

What did CNN do yesterday? I haven't been watching the actual channel, but based on the articles on their front page it just sounds like they're questioning what progress has actually been made. You think they should have their credentials pulled because of that?

P sure Iran was actually being monitored given the people who did it said Iran hadn't violated any part of the agreement when Trump decided to pull out of it.

Yuo. And Trump based his decision on an old document from before the Iran deal saying they were working on nukes.

And yet it was Republican's that blew up peace in Iran.

How about we stop finger pointing and cheer when two hisyorically antagonistic nations begin to get along.

However, it is still too early to declare NK a non-threat. Is it a good start? Yes. So let's all hold on to our butts and hope things can continue smoothly.

I haven't seen too many people say the talks are a bad thing. Most are just approaching it with a wait and see attitude as opposed to saying peace is here and it's the greatest thing ever. It is way to early to declare NK has denuclearized.

So Iran was a "bad deal" and not trustworthy despite the fact that their program is actively being monitored, but North Korea actually has nukes and they're no longer a threat because Trump talked with them and says he wants to pull all US troops off the peninsula and stop the yearly joint exercises with the south

Kim's looking for a way to get out of NK or de-escalate NK before shit hits the fan and he gets coup'd. China finally got on board with sanctions, so NK had nowhere to go. Trump had nothing to do with it. Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il benefitted from a China willing to put up with their shit. China doesn't have anything to gain from supporting NK at this point.

Not really, especially if the narrative you guys give that they NEVER were developing nukes in the first place is true.

That's like paying me off to not make nukes when I'm not even making them. It's dumb.

But we all know that that narrative isn't true at all. It's still a bad deal. We shouldn't have to pay countries not to be shit heads.

And what kind of fucking logic is there in actively ignoring an actual country with nukes like you guys seem to do? Maybe we should just pay Kim a bunch of money and hope he doesn't make any either then?

According to Democrats, Iraq had WMDs when Clinton bombed them in the late 90s but not when Bush Jr was in power.

So, we were talking about how Trump prematurely declared that NK was no longer a threat, and somehow this has been steered into the liberal media not questioning that iraq had WMDs when Clinton bombed in 1998.

Trump has really turned this into an art form. He never responds to any criticism and instead just deflects everything to something a democrat did.

Because in this bizzaro world, a vague promise by Kim without a timeline and without inspection, means that NK is just no longer a threat and we can all sleep well. And there's nothing wrong with that because of something that Clinton did in 1998 in fucking Iraq.
