The rules are simple: The best of N64 vs the best of PS1. Each battle will have one victor, the winner survives and fights again until they are eliminated. Should be a good match up. Vote for whichever game you like best.

New Rule: If a combatant wins 5 rounds, it will take a 5 round rest.

Misfit Opinion: Well that was close as heck. I really love the Mario Party series, even if it can be a ruthless, unforgiving mess of randomness. 3 is my absolute favorite, but 2 is always a good back up.

I do. The mini games are fun and screwing my friends over on the boards is all kinds of hilarious especially when it happens to one with a short temper. Definitely has given me some interesting memories no doubt. There's something about a good party game (like Wii Party and most of the WarioWare series) that just hooks me in.

On topic, I chose Mario Party 2 because, while I haven't played the game in a very long time, I've at least played (and, if memory serves, enjoyed) it which is more than I can say for Xenogears. Easy choice.

Let's see... Giant Robots and Killing God itself vs. Mario and his boring friends doing stupid shit.

They are excellent party games, for the most part. Way too many MP games came out and beat the formula to death, and some of the more recent ideas for the series have been pretty lame (like having everyone move around the board together in a car instead of individually), but the fundamental idea is quite good.

They're a hell of a lot of fun when you're playing with other people, and if you're playing the earlier games where you can actually strategize and plan your moves, as opposed to recent ones where you have to cart around with people in a car.

I think you are a bit mixed up.
The funny memes at the game's expense are the only things I like about Mario Party.
If the meme didn't exist, I'd just 100% hate the game.

Mario Party 2 is an excellent game, the series as a whole gets a bad rap because it went downhill fast.
