I guess liquor is really cheap in florida?

In PA we are gov't owned, which doesnt sit well with some people. It does us no good to gouge people out the ass for the things they want. Plus, when I was in washington, D.C. recently i went into a privately-owned liquor store and their prices were about the same as ours. It definitely varies.

this is something i find annoying but since i work at a gov't owned chain of liquor stores, i don't actually care about, and instead I find it funny in a sadistic type of way.

I kinda wish I had the ability to just go to stores and see what they are selling at what price, i havent found a reliable online guide really.

gov't owned liquor stores like mine have their pros and cons, definitely, but i laugh at the things people say though. meh.

you can check any product here. prices are the same at every store in the commonwealth of PA.

https://www.finewineandgoodspirits.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=10051&catalogId=10051&langId=-1

24.99 before sales tax(usually 6 or 7% in most counties).

which is one good thing as a consumer here you never have to worry if you're overpaying for something. same price at every store. However, the downside is, perhaps you dont mind checking out tons of stores and finding the best deals. we may have a good deal on something, we may not, but the price is what it is.

i forget if they were buying spirits or wine.

She also mentioned somebody told her to go to ohio for alcohol...which....they seem to be more fucked up than we are.

From the looks of it private businesses can sell alcohol(such as convenience stores), but their stock comes from the ohio liquor control board, so thats gov't owned as well to some extent, and reading up on the stuff they sell it seems like they have a tight fist on everything spirit related.

in PA, we have a tight fist obviously cause we cut out the middle man(private businesses) and just control it all, but we are fairly liberally run. it doesnt do us any good to charge out the ass, limit products, set weird times to buy, stuff like that. Some stores have restricted hours such as my home store(M, T 11-7, W-sat 9-9, closed sundays) because we wouldnt do much business because we're so small, but most stores(and indeed ten minutes in their direction of my home) have better hours. 9-9 every day but sundays 11-7.

I can pretty much assure you that the regulation wasn't done to give consumers increased, affordable access to booze >_>
