Some highlights.

CD Projekt describes the game as a "first-person RPG."
Gameplay is in first a first-person perspective, but switched to third-person during a cutscene.
You play a character named V (as in the letter).
V can be a man or a woman.
The stats you pick it the start include Strength, Constitution, Intelligence, Reflexes, Tech, and Cool.
You can drive cars in the game, and seemingly toggle between first and third person during this.
While driving in first-person, the U.I. appears diegetically on the windshield.
It's an open world that you open up more with "street cred."
Damage numbers pop up during combat. (Eww)
There's a bullet-time-like ability that allows you to slow down time.
You use an inhaler to heal.
Gunplay feels slower than Doom or Borderlands, but faster than Fallout 4.
CD Projekt showed off some late-game abilities, including mantis-like blade arms and wall running.
We saw a boss fight against a dude in an exoskeleton. This included sliding under cars and taking cover.

thats ridiculous, part of the fun is realizing characters in visual ways which you couldnt otherwise

with that said, i trust CDPR. i have no reason to think that this will be bad, especially since most of the other info there sounds great

I was really triggered that literally no one asked the logical follow-up question about whether or not there'd be a third person toggle at least... I mean come on guys.

That being said, so far reaction on twitter and such to the first person news is almost universally negative and CDPR does listen so we'll see.

If worse comes to worse (for PC) there'll be a mod to fix it hopefully.

I dislike 3rd person shooters, but I'm sceptical about melee combat in first person.

But knowing CDPR, their track record is perfect so they'll probably make another 10/10 game.

First person? Interest dropped, but still open to it.

Don't know why they don't copy elder/fallout and do both. I like seeing my character and being able to see around me.

They should allow you to go both perspectives, but I prefer first person anyway.

If they say you can toggle in car, but no mention of it in normal gameplay I think we can assume its fps only. That's what sounds like, but who knows. Game is probably 2 years away at least and anything can change.

Camera perspective is a huge part of a games presentation. Hard to enjoy playing a game if dont like the look of it.

Unless they use a camera set within a fully modelled body you're pissing in the wind if you think a mod will create a third person view.

I'll be honest, I'm kinda disappointed it's first person. I know this isn't Witcher, it's a shooter, but still, I was hoping it'd lean more towards Mass Effect than Fallout. This makes it seem like it's gonna kinda be like a Fallout game.

And I realize that the viewpoint could have a third person option, or modded or whatever, but still, it's more than just perspective, it's gameplay expectations. I enjoy stuff like sticky cover, environment interaction, good melee, maybe some platform or environment traversal, and stuff like that is usually lacking in first person games, where it's present in third. Gameplay always felt simpler to me in first person shooters compared to third person shooters, even if you ignore the actual perspective, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, puttin' all the points in Cool.

Also! For me, if it's in first person, I NEED 60 fps, compared to third person, where it's not a requirement. And I guarantee you this game won't run that well on consoles.
